The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) will introduce a new set of pre-import control measures for infant cereal products starting from March 27, 2023, as a voluntary scheme. The new measures focus on manufacturing stage controls to ensure food safety. Importers can register their suppliers with SFA if they conduct supplier verification checks to meet import conditions. Importers under this scheme will not need to submit laboratory reports for Aflatoxin B1 testing for every consignment during import permit application. Instead, they can maintain their own records of supplier verification checks for periodic SFA checks.
